Backgrounds

Published by raesmom at 3:17 pm under General Edit This

When shooting digital photos, the background can sometimes distract from the subject. In our home, chaos rules, so it’s very hard to get clean photos without a cluttered background. This is why I desperately want a lightbox, so I can have somewhere to take photos without worry about the background.

Sometimes a background can add a lot to the photo especially when it comes to crafty creations. I’ve noticed several creative photos done with crocheted items like amigurumi animals. Some have taken photos of their yarn animals in the ‘wild,’ hiding out in the bushes. Another good example are these crocheted cupcakes displayed on a cake stand.

For me personally, a clean background makes the digital photo that much better. There’s nothing to distract from the photo subject. Sometimes backgrounds can add to the subject but keeping it simple will also ensure that nothing distracts from the subject.
